Victoria Tolonen has 17 years of experience in ballroom and social partner
dancing and teaches the social styles of Salsa and West Coast Swing, found
in clubs around the world. She's danced from Sweden to Beijing to Ecuador
to Singapore and focuses on lead/follow technique and effective communication
on the dance floor. West Coast Swing classes are social or club style, not
ballroom or country. Salsa Classes are LA style Salsa on 1. During the summer
there are occasional Casino Rueda classes. Next Casino Class will probably
be at the end of August. Una Bulla!!
Registration :: All Group Classes are 4 weeks long and start the first Tues/Wed/Thurs
of the month. Salsa classes are at Club Seven downtown, you can start the
first or second week and you don't need to pre-register... just show up
the first Wednesday night of the month. West Coast Swing and Blues are at
Victoria's Studio (call or email for directions) you have to start the first
week and should be able to commit to all 4 weeks of class since we have
even numbers of leads and follows and we're inter-dependant. Pre-register
at least a week or two in advance by calling, emailing or texting Victoria.

(except Beginning Swing and all Salsa, which are $35). The second & third
classes of the month are $25.
Cancellation Policy :: Sorry, but this is a small, personal business and
most classes are limited on space so refunds aren't given if you sign up
for class then cancel. Hope you understand!

Beginning Salsa is intended for total newbies. 4 week series starts the first week of the month, $35/person, no partner needed! No pre-registration necessary and you can repeat it for free. For the Beginning class you can start the first or second week but after that you should wait till the next session starts at the beginning of the month. For Intermediate Salsa you should be comfortable with basic turns, cross body leads with and without a turn, and basic lead/follow technique. Starts Sept 1.

Beginning is WCS from scratch. Many people repeat the Beginning class. Level 2 is an intensive focus on connection, musicality, and of course cool patterns. Blues is beginning but continues from month to month with many of the same people. Late Night Blues is an age-limited class (under 35) & way fun! Pre-registration requiredNo partner needed. Bachata is a sexy Latin dance from the Dominican Republic. Beginning Plus is for those who've taken Beg once or twice and want more cool stuff. Hardcore Technique is for those who really want to work it. You won't learn new moves, but it will make you better leads & follows. You never need a partner, but pre-registration is required. The next series of Swing classes starts Sept 2. No class Sept 16 but join us for Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel and Bridgetown Swing!
Private Lessons in Salsa or Swing are a great way to improve your lead/following
technique, work on styling, or just learn the basics in a more comfortable
one-on-one environment. Victoria focuses mostly on technique since you can
then transfer your good technique to any new moves you learn in group classes.
You can do private lessons with a partner or by yourself. If you're an upper
level student, these are like mini dance boot camps. Bring a notebook and
take notes. A blend of group classes and private lessons are highly recommended
for those who want to take their partner dancing to a higher level!
$45/hour for single or couple.
Semi-Private lessons can be arranged for small groups...call for rates.
Held in Victoria's Studio in SW Bend, just south of The Old Mill District.
A Dance Performance or Class can be a fun addition to special events, private
parties, company get-togethers. Spice things up a bit or give people an
excuse to get out of their shells! Victoria works with you to figure out
what would work best for your event, whether it's a formal performance or
a casual 20-minute class just to get people moving. Prices vary, depending
on the event but usually range from $100-$250/event or $10-$15/person.
